We’re looking for a client-leading Growth Strategist. This person will likely be looking for a head of growth level role. This job is to join our team at Ballpoint to support on client strategy, analysis, and management, as we enter a new growth phase of our business.

About this role

We are looking to hire someone who has been directly responsible for growing at least one startup or challenger brand. Our preference is for that experience to be in-house.

Growth is hard. Despite what many gurus might sell you, there are no playbooks. It is a continual job of problem-solving, then finding winning ideas. Pushing on those ideas, only to then hit up against another ceiling.

We are looking for people who have broken through those ceilings in the past. This suits people who are dogged in their determination to win and overcome challenges.

We’re looking for someone with a broad skillset, but importantly with a specialism in paid social. You will have significant experience in growing paid social accounts from small spend to big spend.

Equally important, you will be a fantastic communicator. You will likely have presented to your founders or senior management team, as well as a broader company. You will be humble, empathetic, and highly curious.

We’re a growth agency. Our founder Josh used to run his own startup (Wine List) and before that was first employee and head of growth at Thriva.

We’re an agency that aims to be a perfect balance of left brain and right brain. Our teams are evenly split between creative and technical.

We currently work with 15 clients predominantly helping them grow through creative-first paid social, paid search, retention marketing, and conversion rate optimisation.

We build growth models, and measurement frameworks, which often report directly into to CFOs.

Our clients are a mix of the founders, as well as growth, marketing and ecommerce leads.

For the clients we’ve been working with for over a year, we’ve managed to 3x their monthly marketing spend on average – in every case while improving profitability. We look forward to doing the same again next year.

We’re a young agency. We launched in January 2023 at a time when it was clear the role of creativity in modern paid social. The best agencies of the 2010s were still heavily ‘performance’ agencies or ‘creative’ agencies, we launched being both.

We’re also highly ambitious. We will have grown 2.5x year one into year two, and we plan to continue that trajectory for the next 5 years.

Many businesses treat fractional or PT as transactional relationships, but we’d rather you become as integral as our full time team.
